Online Eating Disorder, Trauma, and Couples Therapy in South Carolina

Specialized virtual care available statewide. Based in Arlington, VA.

If you’re in South Carolina and looking for specialized therapy for an eating disorder, trauma, or relationship challenges, Balanceworks Counseling offers virtual care throughout the state. Our practice is based in Arlington, VA, and we work with individuals, couples, and families across South Carolina — from Columbia and Charleston to Greenville, Myrtle Beach, and beyond.

Specialized eating disorder care that integrates therapy and nutrition counseling — with both providers working as a team — is difficult to find in most parts of the country. Our virtual model means South Carolina residents can access that level of coordinated, evidence-based care without leaving home.

Our Approach

Eating disorder treatment that genuinely integrates therapy and nutrition counseling — with a registered dietitian and therapists working together rather than in parallel — is difficult to find in most parts of South Carolina. Balanceworks Counseling was designed around exactly that model.

Our team is trained in EFT, DBT, RO-DBT, CBT, and Family-Based Treatment, with a Perinatal Mental Health Certification and Board-Approved LPC Supervisors on staff. We work from an attachment-based framework and believe that sustainable recovery requires a relationship that is structured, safe, and genuinely attuned to each client’s needs — not a one-size-fits-all treatment plan.

We are an out-of-network, self-pay practice so we can prioritize quality of care over volume.

Why South Carolina Clients Choose Virtual Therapy With Us

South Carolina has fewer specialized mental health providers than neighboring states, which means the right fit for eating disorder treatment or EFT couples therapy often isn't available locally — especially outside of Columbia and Charleston. Virtual therapy removes that barrier entirely, giving you access to a higher level of specialization without it depending on where you live in the state.

For eating disorder recovery in particular, our integrated model — therapist and registered dietitian working as one team — is something most South Carolina residents would otherwise have to travel out of state to access. Virtual sessions make that level of coordinated care available from wherever you are.
