About Balanceworks Counseling
Established 2012
At Balanceworks, we offer thoughtful, evidence-based therapy grounded in understanding how patterns develop — not just how to manage them. Many of the people we work with feel stuck in cycles related to food, emotion regulation, or relationships, and are looking for care that is both clinically informed and genuinely attuned.
Our office is located in Arlington, VA.
We work with children, teens, adults, families and couples in-person and virtually.

Thoughtful, Attuned Care From People Who Truly Love This Work
At Balanceworks Counseling, we believe therapy works best when you feel safe, understood, and matched with someone who genuinely fits you.
Our team is made up of highly trained clinicians and registered dietitians who care about growth… our clients’ and our own.
We bring warmth, curiosity, and evidence-based care into every relationship, creating a space where meaningful and lasting change becomes possible.
Meet the Team
A Collaborative Team of Specialists in Eating Disorders and Relationships

And yes, Cooper the therapy dog is part of the team too.
Meet Cooper, Balanceworks Therapy Dog! This sweet, sleepy, friendly guy loves to meet new people but is very respectful of personal space and usually will only approach if you invite him to! He spends his time at the office hard at work: snoozing in the sunshine, hoping for treats, and when clients wish, he will gladly accept a snuggle on the sofa for support. Cooper is a wise 11 year old puppy, and loves his job as Balanceworks therapy dog! While he is a great supportive addition to therapy sessions, not everyone loves working with animals--and Cooper understands this. He is only in the session if a client prefers! Core Values
The Principles That Guide Our Work With Every Client
Genuine Connection
We believe healing happens in relationship. That’s why we prioritize warmth, trust, and the right clinical match. When you feel safe enough to be fully seen and supported, you can take the risks that real change requires: moving beyond old patterns and into a more connected and meaningful life.
Growth for Clients & Clinicians
Our team has always shared a deep commitment to learning and personal development. We are constantly pursuing advanced training, seeking consultation, and doing our own personal work so we can show up fully for the people we serve. This culture of curiosity and humility allows us to provide therapy that is both highly skilled and deeply human.
Balance and Sustainability
We value the well-being of our clients. We believe therapy should support a full, engaged life, not become another source of pressure. By creating realistic, collaborative plans and honoring the practice of balance, we help clients build lasting change that continues beyond the therapy room.
