Online Couples Therapy, Eating Disorder Treatment, and Trauma Therapy in Maryland
Specialized virtual care available statewide. Licensed to practice in Maryland.
If you’re in Maryland and looking for specialized therapy for relationship challenges, an eating disorder, or trauma, Balanceworks Counseling offers virtual care throughout the state. Our practice is based in Arlington, VA — minutes from the Maryland border — and we work with individuals, couples, and families across Maryland, from the DC suburbs and Baltimore to the Eastern Shore and beyond.
We bring together licensed therapists, a registered dietitian, and clinical supervisors in a collaborative care model that’s rare in private practice — so you get coordinated, specialized support without having to piece it together yourself.

Our Approach
Balanceworks Counseling is an attachment-based, evidence-informed practice. We don’t believe insight alone creates change — real recovery happens in the context of a safe, attuned therapeutic relationship with clear structure and support.
Our team is trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), DBT, RO-DBT, CBT, and Family-Based Treatment, grounded in attachment theory and tailored to each client’s needs. The DMV area has no shortage of therapists — what’s harder to find is a practice where eating disorder specialists, couples therapists, and a registered dietitian are working as one coordinated team.
We are an out-of-network, self-pay practice because we believe effective care requires time, privacy, and the right therapeutic match — not a rushed intake and a crowded caseload.
